Auto Insurance

R/ This insurance is required by the Bank to protect the property given as collateral and that supports the requested loan.

R/ It is the one that covers damages caused to third parties. Example: If a car crashes into a bus stop causing damage to the person(s) waiting at the bus stop, if the car is run over, etc.

R/ It is the one that covers damages caused to another car, object or property of third parties. Example: Colliding with other cars, a fence, etc.

A/ At Banco Delta, for your convenience, the loan letter includes the premium which is calculated on a levelized basis, meaning that it takes into account the annual depreciation of the car and averages the premium so that you always pay the same amount.

A/ The main benefit is that during the first years, the premium may be lower than if it is calculated per year. You will pay the same monthly installment for the entire term of the loan.

A/ No, it will not increase your premium, in case of claims the insurer will adjust your deductibles.

A/ The new car depreciates 20% in the first year. In the following years, a rate of 15% will be applied.

A/ Any event that is not a collision or rollover, for example: car theft, damage due to malicious acts, flood, etc.

A/ No, in commercial automobiles only the theft of the car is covered. Theft of radio or any other accessory is only covered in private cars.

R/ It is indispensable to present all the requirements including the Fire Department report, otherwise the claim does not apply.

A/ By purchasing your policy through Banco Delta and General Representative Inc. you will receive your policy on the day of disbursement of your loan.

A/ You should go to any branch of Banco Delta and ask for a copy of it.

A/ Your renewal will be ready one month before your policy expires, as long as you are up to date with your payments. Example: If your policy expires in May, your renewal will be ready in April.

Minor Collision (the car can be moved and there are no injuries):

  • Call your insurance company for assistance
  • Take photos showing how the cars were left at the time of the collision.
  • Moving cars from the track
  • Completion of the definitive single form
  • If no one accepts responsibility, call Transit 311.
  • Waiting for assistance from your insurer

Major Collision (car cannot be moved and/or there are injuries):

  • Call your insurance company for assistance, towing or ambulance if required.
  • Call Transit 311

A/ The following cases are not covered under the auto policy:

  • Use of the car for purposes other than those stated in the application.
  • Sports competitions, tests or exhibitions of any kind.
  • Driving under the influence of alcoholic substances, except for those types of policies that provide coverage for alcoholic breath.
  • Drivers without a driver’s license, expired license or inadequate license according to the use of the car at the time.
  • Car transported by another vehicle.
  • Be using the car for live cargo without notification (livestock) or gross cargo (timber, aluminum, steel).

A/ You have the right to purchase your auto insurance policy with the broker and insurer of your choice.

The Bank offers auto insurance with attractive rates and benefits for its clients, based on the volume of our client portfolio.

In addition, the customer can receive insurance services (renewals, policy copies, endorsements, claims handling) at branches and payment centers, as well as make insurance payments at all branches, loan centers and payment points maintained by the Bank (Multipago, Western Union, E-Pago, Banco Nacional, etc.).

A/ That is correct, insurance policies are cancelled by the insurance companies upon failure to pay with 30 days of delinquency, as indicated in the Insurance Law of 2012.

It is recommended to keep your policy up to date, in order to be covered in case of an accident as well as for the revisions that ATTT may perform on the roads of the country, requesting a copy of the policy to validate if it is up to date.
